Container sharing from Cartagena to Houston

Hey all, myself and my wife are curretly driving from Argentina toward Colombia, with the aim of shipping from Cartagena to Houston TX. i have a good contact in Cartagena for arranging the container, shipping and customs formalities in Colombia, and again apon arrival in the states, a brilliant agent who will arrnage clearance etc. we have a Mazda Bongo, that will fit in a 20ft standard height container with room for a bike up to a Bmw gs1200 with lugguage. we would be happy to use a larger container and split the cost if more bikes or another car/ small 4x4 wanted to join us. we are looking to arrive in Houston for the 1st week in July ideally, so drop off in Cartagena would be mid June-ish.

I need a bike shipped from Cartagena to Houston

I have a KTM 1190 Adventure R motorbike in La Paz now that I'll be riding to Cartagena Colombia in April and wish to ship it to Houston in April or as late as May.  I'd like to share a container with someone.

I am in Colombia on my bike now but looking to ship end of May. Would be interested to see if we could work anything with your container idea. Doubt I can be in Houston before the end of August to collect so maybe no good to you.

Before we proceed, allow me

Before we proceed, allow me to confess that this will be my first time to container ship my bike.  I used Colombian Garag air cargo to ship my bike from Panama to Bogotah in December.  I'm trying to avoid that $1,100 fee on the way back home.  Additionally, I'm about to look at the sailboat schedules.  I had a spot on the Stahlratte coming down from Panama but missed it due to an accident on the freeway in Panama.

As for timing, my goal is to get my bike to Cartagena in mid April nd make arrangements for shipping as soon as possible afterwards.  However, I have no hard date the bike needs to be in Houston so a later delivery is fine by me as long as I can store my bike in a safe place and not have to fly back to load onto a ship.

If you wish to store in Houston, regardless of means of shipment, know that I have a safe garage in which I'd be happy to store for you for a month or two.

Finally, I plan to research all the shipping options this week.  If you want to continue the dialog, I suggest we move it to email.  Find me at joe @
