90 Day car permit Costa Rica

I just got to Costa Rica two weeks ago. I drove my Truck from the states. I got a 90 day car permit at the border and my plan was to go to Panama and explore for a bit and head back north to the states with the truck. I was told that once i leave Costa Rica, the truck has to be out of the country for 90 days to be able to get back into Costa Rica. Is this true? Is this a law that is usually not enforced? Any way around it? any info would be appreciated!

Vehicle Permit

The same thing happened to us 2 years ago. We thought we had a multiple entry permit when we came into the country, but when we were checking out to go into Panama we were told the same thing. We couldn't find away aroung it.

Good Luck.

I've heard the same thing.

I've heard the same thing. Seems like there must be a way around it though. Far North, you mentioned a multiple entry permit--is there any way to "upgrade" a single entry vehicle permit?
