We're on the road right now with Toyota Tundra "Franzi" and a small camping trailer (Forest River - rpod 182 G) "Bommel". There is always a lot happening where we are since we're traveling with two small kids, June is 3 years old and Mika is just 1.5 years old.

1971 VW Baywindow T2a

Meet Lotte. She is a beautiful old granma, an original 1971 Volkswagen Baywindow, Made in Germany on February 21st, 1971. Back then her young skin was Chianti Red, just like wine. Right after her birth she crossed the ocean to Panama. That's what she was meant for from the very beginning: the tropics. She must have had an interesting life, yet I haven't met anyone to tell me her stories. Somehow she got lost in Costa Rica several years ago, before I found her half dead and decided to bring her back to life.

Do you have any advice for others who may be considering driving the Americas?:

What type of car are you driving?: 
VW combi Clipper 2002
Summarize your trip in a couple of sentences: 

Hello, after one year of travelling with our VW Combi, you want to sale it to go back home. We are actually in Ecuador and will go in few weeks to Colombia. The van is from Brasil, with the Brasilian plates and papers on my name. It is from 2002 with 337000km in good shape. It works with gazoline and natural gaz (GNV), it got bed, kitchen, cooler 12v and 220v, climatisator and solar panel, 2 batteries, led lights,lycra and plastic "awning" , tool box and everything you need to cook.

We are saling it with everything so you don't need to buy anything, it's ready to go.

We have been travelling the world continuously for 13 years now and are currently exploring the Americas. We just finished converting our vehicle into a luxary camper and she is ready to take someone all the way from North to South America, but she will have to do it without us, because we recently found out we are pregnant :)

Do you have any advice for others who may be considering driving the Americas?: 
- Being able to speak or willing to learn a little Spanish would be helpful. - Experience has taught us if you plan on living in your vehicle for longer than a few weeks, make sure it’s one you can stand up in. This may not sound important now but it sure will when your knees are killing you from all the crawling and your backache stops you from being able to enjoy the drive.

2007 Dodge Ram 3500 & Hallmark Everest Pop-up Camper

We are traveling from Canada to Argentina, hoping to visit as many countries as possible as we travel south.  Before we head south, we are taking a long detour east through the USA, from where we will fly to Turkey for a couple of months visting family, before returning and resuming our southern trajectory.

Do you have any advice for others who may be considering driving the Americas?: 
You can always turn back if it doesn't work out, don't let fear stop you.

We left Paris to cruise through South America. We bought a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado in Lima and are now heading south through Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina.

Do you have any advice for others who may be considering driving the Americas?: 
There is no good reason why not taking your own trip !

We sold everything we owned, quit our jobs, and started our journey from Alaska to Argentina on May 2, 2015. We are traveling slow so we are expecting to reach Ushuaia the end of 2017 or the beginning of 2018. You are welcome to follow along at www.johnandmandi.com

Do you have any advice for others who may be considering driving the Americas?: 
Leaving was the hardest part, once on the road you will wonder why you didn't start sooner. We feel it is essential to read several blogs of previous Pan Am trips, the ones that resonate the most will be similar to how you will travel and will provide the best advice.
What type of car are you driving?: 
1988 Toyota Land Cruiser HJ75 4.0 Diesel
Summarize your trip in a couple of sentences: 

Planning to Ship our 88 HJ75 Land Cruiser to Cartagena, Colombia in in Fall of 2017 and travel to Brazil, taking perhaps up to 6 months.

We have a farm near Cartagena, Colombia, where we will make final preparations for the trip.

Took a 3 week trip to Newfoundland, last summer and planning a 4 week trip to NW USA this October.

Do you have any advice for others who may be considering driving the Americas?: 
Best to be able to speak Spanish, be prepared for hours @ border crossings and lots of police / military checkpoints. This comes from 20 years experience of traveling / driving in S & Central America

Leaving September 1, 2016 from Calgary, Alberta. Headed east to Quebec, then back west into Ontario for a family event. From there, south through USA toward Mexico. We plan to travel (slowly) south through latin america... would love to see and camp in Yucatan. We are volunteering for awhile in Nicaragua, And hopefully visiting Costa Rica and Panama.

Do you have any advice for others who may be considering driving the Americas?:
