For Sale 1986 VW Westfalia Weekender in Chile/Argentina 2013, 2014

My girlfriend Linda and I are traveling south from California in our Volkswagen hoping to make it to Chile/Argentina anywhere between December 2013 and February 2014. Were now in Ecuador heading south at an average pace and are hoping to sell the van at the end of the trip. The van is a 1986 Volkswagen Westfalia Weekender, its 2wd with a 2.2l 4cyl wasserboxer. The engine was freshly rebuilt by Chris Corkins who is one of the top rebuilders for this platform and installed just weeks prior to leaving.

FOR SALE: VW van in Argentina/Chile November 2013

We will be finishing our "drive the Americas" trip in late November or early December in either Argentina or Chile and will be selling our beloved Jurasek, the Volkswagen Eurovan (aka Transporter in Europe).

It´s from 1992, Germany-made with Canadian plates.

The engine is 2.5 litres, five cylinder, it runs on gas and is manual. The consumption is between 9 (highway) and 11 (mountains and off road) litres per 100 km.

For sale: Mitsubishi 4x4 Delica campervan

Travelled the "Panamerican highway" from Canada to Ushuaia. At the moment the car is in Buenos Aires and I'm in Europe but I'll be back in Buenos Aires in spring time (half September 2013).

Selling vehicles in South America - how do we do it?

We're looking for information about selling our campervan in South America.

- Does anyone have detailed info about selling in Argentina, Chile and Uruguay?

- We are interested in knowing how we would transfer the title to a new owner. EG is it advantageous to keep our car registered somewhere? (our van is currently registered in California, but we are wondering if we need to keep re-registering it each year). If the car is no longer registered anywhere, does it make it more difficult to transfer ownership, or is this irrelevant?
