Heading South

Hi group... I'm in Rio driving south to Buenos Aires and possibly Tierra del Fuego sometime during/after carnaval. Anyone with any tips to share, places they recommend along the way or wishing to tag along, let me know. This is a bit of a test run to see how my car and I survive the trip so hopefully this is just the start of something much bigger.

VW Vanagon 1985 passenger van - $3100

We bought the van in San Fransisco and are driving it down to Panama. We drove 6500km and didn't have a single problem with the car so far! It's an amazing van!
It drives well and has low gas consumption (about 15l/100km - 15MPG). A full tank (60L) should get you about 400km far.

The car comes with Californian license plates.

Passenger wanted for overland trip through Latin America

Former army officer about to start a 10,000 km trip from LA to Tierra del Fuego (Argentina) via just about every country in Central and South America. Will be taking several months and producing a series of dashcam videos from the perspective of the “Virtual Passenger”. Vehicle is a Toyota FJ40 4WD. Looking for Spanish speaking passenger(s) or co-driver(s) for some/ all of the trip beginning in March 2013. Would also be open to travelling in convoy with another vehicle. Please contact me if interested. First segment: LA, Death Valley, then Mexico (Baja) and continuing southward.
