Shipping from UK to USA and then driving to South America

Hi Everyone

My partner and I are planning on driving the panamerican highway in a few years time.  We want to do this in a camper van (hopefully a VW!!).

We are still just thinking about what to do and are thinking of maybe buying the vehicle in the UK and working on it over the next few years.  We would then ship this over to the USA or even South America.

I have looked into different countries to ship to and the rules surrounding the country I am shipping too, however what I want to know is there any laws that would prevent me from shipping to one country and then driving to another in an imported vehicle from the UK?

An example would be say shipping a van from the UK to New York, and then driving down through Central America, shipping across the Darien Gap and then through South America.

Or, shipping a vehicle to Canada and doing similar to the above.

The above is just an example.

Is anyone able to help?

Many thanks

Danielle

The prospect of liquor giant

The prospect of liquor giant Dan Murphy's opening a store in southern Tasmania may have some punters raising their glasses.
