Leaving September 1, 2016 from Calgary, Alberta. Headed east to Quebec, then back west into Ontario for a family event. From there, south through USA toward Mexico. We plan to travel (slowly) south through latin america... would love to see and camp in Yucatan. We are volunteering for awhile in Nicaragua, And hopefully visiting Costa Rica and Panama.

Reason for taking this trip: 
Always wanted to, since flying to various latin american destinations. But I hate flying. Work has become scarce at home and too expensive to stay there with no money coming in... might as well travel!
Why did you decide to drive?: 
I hate flying. I love camping and road-tripping.

Yes
Are you also taking along children?: 
No
What type of car are you driving?: 
Dodge 3500 Cummins Turbo Diesel, pulling 21' Arctic Fox gooseneck/5th
Did you make any modifications to your car for this trip?: 
Too many to list... ranging from tamper resistant license plate screws and locking gas cap, to 'lifting' the suspension on the trailer or programming the truck to burn higher-sulpher diesel.
How did you save up or finance your trip?: 
I have worked as a renovation/construction contractor for several years and done a couple of 'flip' properties to pay off debts and save up.

To Panama city
What were your family’s and friends’ reactions when you told them about your trip before you left?: 
Some are envious while slightly more think we're insane

English, Some french, some spanish
