Why did you decide to drive?:
It’s going to be an interesting challenge and we were intrigued by others who had already completed the trip.

2002 GMC Savana conversion van
Did you make any modifications to your car for this trip?:
Bob installed a kitchen with shelving and a sink. Also added solar panels to power a Dometic fridge and to allow us to recharge the laptop.
How did you save up or finance your trip?:
Living on the pension

6 or 7 months

Ushuaia Argentina
What were your family’s and friends’ reactions when you told them about your trip before you left?:
some are excited and some think we are crazy
What languages do you speak? Will you learn more on your trip?:
We speak English and cereal box French. Joyce took Spanish lessons
Do you have any advice for others who may be considering driving the Americas?:
Start reading and planning. It took us at least 2 years to find a vehicle that we could camp in and would be happy driving.
