We are four friends traveling from Mexico to Ushuaia in an old VW Combi We have adapted ourselves. We are currently in Mexico, in the Yucatan region. We will be in Guatemala soon.

Reason for taking this trip: 
We have been already traveling around Southeast Asia and we really enjoyed it. I have always wanted to travel around South America. One day we thought it would be great to travel to Mexico and buy a van and drive all the way down to Argentina. It sounded crazy back then but, it looks even crazier right now.
Why did you decide to drive?: 
We love driving and traveling. We have the experience on backpacking and we thought it would be great if we could have a place to sleep, cook and move all at once. We feel completely free when driving.

No

No
What type of car are you driving?: 
VW Kombi 1995 Brazilian
Did you make any modifications to your car for this trip?: 
We have cut off the roof and we have made a pop-up. We have modified the interior with a handmade seat-bed, furniture, and small kitchen. We also modified the engine with a new carburetor and few things it needed to be done.
How did you save up or finance your trip?: 
We have all worked hard for two-three years in London, Uk. We have saved all the money we could.
How long do you plan on traveling?: 
We thought it would take us around a year but, it will probably be more, something like year and a half perhaps.
Where do you plan on driving? : 
Mexico, Guatemala, Belice, Costarica, Honduras, Salvador, Nicaragua, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru,Chile and Argentina.
What were your family’s and friends’ reactions when you told them about your trip before you left?: 
They know me already,
What languages do you speak? Will you learn more on your trip?: 
Spanish, Catalonian and English
Do you have a favorite place that you've visited?: 
Varanasi, India and the Old City of Jerusalem, Israel
What was the weirdest thing you experienced on your trip?: 
I can't tell any weird thing right now. It all have been always exiting
What was the worst border crossing?: 
Cambodia to Vietnam.
Do you have any advice for others who may be considering driving the Americas?: 
Not yet. We have barely started but, I will probably advise them to try. It can be done , you just need to go for it.
